There are a few definitions that will bring further clarity to our understanding as we pray for Jesus to be exalted in all the earth among all the nations.

People Groups: There are around 17,000 different ethnic or people groups in the world. Each is unique based on its language, religion, and culture. The Bible refers to ethnic groups as nations. Nations aren’t referring to political countries like our definition today, but rather ethnic or people groups.

Unreached: People groups who don’t have adequate access to the gospel and not enough believers to evangelize their own without outside help are referred to as unreached people groups. Of the 17,000 people groups in the world, 6,500 are unreached which accounts for three billion people!

Global Workers: These are individuals who have been sent to a specific unreached people group to share, disciple and plant indigenous churches.

10/40 Window: About 90% of unreached people groups live in what is commonly known as the 10/40 Window. This highlighted rectangle stretches from ten degrees north to forty degrees north of the equator and is equivalent to about a third of the world’s land mass, and covers North Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Southeast Asia. Finally, this area of the world is the origin and hub of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and other major religions.
