God Talks To You And Your Children TooSample

These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind. You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. - (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 AMP)

It's essential we teach our children the Word and the ways of God while they're young. They're so impressionable when they're little, and their little hearts and minds truly soak up all that we say. Proverbs 22:6 says when we train up a child in the way they should go, when they're older, they will never depart from it.

Just as we need to teach our children the Word and the ways of The Lord, it's equally important that our children know they can hear God's voice and be led by Him.

The Lord speaks to us in many different ways, but Jesus says,

"My sheep recognize My voice. I know them, and they follow Me. I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of My hand." - (John 10:27-28 MSG)

Let's take a moment to reflect upon those two verses from John 10.

For those of us who follow Jesus, we have the supernatural privilege of being able to hear His voice and to be led by Him. The promises connected to us knowing His voice and being led by Him are: He gives us REAL life, and He divinely protects us from the destroyer, which is the enemy. Not only is it important for us to know and follow God's voice, but for us to teach our children to do so as well.

I, The Lord, will teach your children, and they will have real peace. (Isaiah 54:13 ERV)
