THE HOLY GUIDE

The Holy Spirit was intrinsically involved in our salvation process and will be intrinsically involved in the salvation process of the people we are believing for. He is our Guide who leads us from darkness into light.

Before we are born again, he convicts us of sin - especially in the world we live in now where sin is not often talked about - we need the Holy Spirit to show us how we have "fallen short of the Glory of God", how we have missed the mark of living as God has designed us to, how this has grieved God. We need the Spirit to convince us of our need for God.

The Holy Spirit also reveals Jesus to us, showing us his great sacrifice on the cross that paid the price for our sin - so we can proclaim Jesus is Lord and be born again.

The good news is that the spirit doesn't stop guiding us at the point of our salvation - no! He keeps convicting us of the sin in our world that is not pleasing to God and that stops us from living the life we were created for.

Conviction from the Holy Spirit is not condemnation - it comes with kindness that leads us to repentance.

As we continue to journey on in our Christian lives, the Holy Spirit promises to teach us all things - He uses the illumination of the Bible to teach us, he uses preaching and teaching, songs and circumstances - and he speaks to us directly in our spirit. If we have ears to hear, the Holy Spirit is guiding us into all truth.

"Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and spirit" - John 3:3-5

Prayer Point: God today I want to be guided by your Spirit in a fresh way - let me be attentive to what you are speaking to me about in this season of my life. Let me understand and yield to the conviction of the Holy Spirit as I walk out my Christianity.
