Rooted In Christ: Growing To Know God Day-By-Day

Another important aspect of becoming rooted, build up, and established in Christ is growing in your relationship with God so you can know Him.

We’ve already looked at devoting ourselves to His Word as that is essential to knowing Him and being rooted in Him and with this, part of the growth takes place as you learn Who He really is as God reveals Himself to you in three distinct ways as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 

Because of God’s vastness and our own finite minds, it may seem like a mystery regarding how He revealed Himself to mankind, but maybe it isn’t as much a mystery but an act of wisdom and faith to believe Him when He clearly shows us Who He is in His Word. His Word solves the mystery because He is a God that can be known and wants to be known. 

It's amazing to me and we should be in awe that God chose to reveal Himself and to be known in three distinct ways again as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. 

You first begin to learn about God Himself through the book of Genesis where the earth was formless, and void and He spoke light into the darkness, and He set forth the creation of the Heaven and earth including mankind. (See Genesis 1:1-2:3) God The Father is the ultimate source or reason for the universe and life itself. 

Then fast forward to the New Testament such as the beginning of the Gospel of John and in God’s divine plan of salvation, we see that Jesus is The Son of God and is fully God, He is The Word of God Who became flesh and dwelt among us. He Humbled Himself to come in the form of a man and then ultimately took up the cross for you and I. God The Father sent Jesus as The Only Way of salvation. 

Then Jesus Himself taught us that He would send His helper, The Holy Spirit Who is fully God choosing to dwell in those who receive God’s free gift of salvation. (See 1 Corinthians 6:19-20) As a follower of Christ you are blessed to have Him dwell in you and give you wisdom, guidance, direction, for Him to intercede on your behalf as well as empower you as God’s witness, and much more. 

There is complete unity in how God The Father, Son, and Spirit operate, and you need to strive daily to get to know and be guided by God as you grow in your relationship with Him. 

God wants to be known and He wants you to know Him more!

Knowing God and growing in your understanding of Who He really is, is essential to being firmly established and rooted in faith because it’s all about Him. So, get to know Him daily and in knowing Him, live for Him so you may know and do His purpose, will, and plan for you which is all part of being rooted in Christ.
