Inspiring Reflections For The Christmas Season

DAY 5 OF 6

Questions in the Christmas Story - 3

“Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews?” (Matthew 2:2)

The Magi who followed the Christmas star from the East asked this question when they came to Jerusalem. It’s amazing that they were so committed to finding and worshiping the King of the Jews (Matthew2:2). Obviously, the star had a profound effect on them and they understood the significance of this strong galactic sign! (Matthew2:2).

The corrupt Herod was disturbed (Matthew2:3), and with vicious and devious plans of his own (Matthew2:8), he brought the Magi into the palace secretly to get inside information (Matthew2:7).  . After they left Herod, the star led the Magi to the exact place where they could worship the newborn King and open their treasures to present precious gifts to Him (Matthew2:9-11). Isn’t it ironic that while these men had traveled hundreds of miles to see the King of the Jews, the Jewish leaders were unwilling to go a few miles to reach Bethlehem!

While the star was God’s revelation to the Magi, the baby Jesus was God’s greatest revelation to the entire world. He came to save all mankind!

A tough cowboy, singer and actor met this Savior during a Billy Graham Crusade. His life was changed so dramatically that Stuart Hamblen, encouraged by the famous actor John Wayne, wrote one of the most loved Gospel songs of all time as his testimony. It was titled ‘It is no secret what God can do’.

The same Jesus can enter your heart and do the same for you. Are you are willing to invite Him in? Maybe you need to re-invite Him in during this Christmas Season. He lives today in the hearts of people.

THOUGHT - If Christ is your Saviour, would you take some time to lead someone to His saving grace today?

‘The road to Bethlehem should eventually lead us to the road to Calvary’.
