10 Days to a Closer Walk With Jesus

DAY 7 OF 10

Inexhaustible Grace

2 CORINTHIANS 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. Here is encouragement and assurance to the highest degree! God’s grace is inexhaustible—an unlimited wealth of support, boundless kindness, lavish generosity, and overflowing mercies from above. Ponder the superlative nature of these promises in our text: God is able to make all grace abound to you, that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. This is abounding grace to its maximum level.

God’s grace is a deluge, not a drip.
It’s a downpour, not a trickle.
It’s a mighty waterfall, not a sprinkle.
This is a fountain of goodness that never runs dry. You and I do not

have a need for grace that God cannot supply. What is it that you need today? What form of grace are you lacking? Look to the Possessor of all grace and know that He is the most generous of all beings! Jesus said of the heavenly Father,

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! (Matt.7:7–11)

My soul, lay your request before the One who is eager to supply your needs, knowing that it is to the Father’s glory that you bear much fruit, showing yourself to be a disciple of Jesus. As Jesus has said, when we remain in Him, and His words remain in us, we can ask whatever we wish, and it will be done for us. God is glorified in us when we bear spiritual fruit as we depend on Him (see John 15:7–10).

Reflect

How does it encourage, comfort, and strengthen your soul to know that God is able to make all grace abound to you? What kind of grace do you need right now? Let your request be made known to God, and watch how He supplies.

Let’s Pray

Father, I praise You for your inexhaustible riches of grace and mercy. Thank You that there is no need that You cannot meet, no want that You cannot supply. Thank You that You are able to make all grace abound to me, so that in all things, at all times, having all that I need, I will abound in every good work. Lord, You know exactly what I need this moment, this day, this season. Please open up the floodgates of heaven and pour out your Spirit and your supplies of grace for everything You have called me to do for Your glory. I trust in You completely. In Jesus’ name, amen.
