Introducing John

DAY 7 OF 7

John, Who Saw Visions

In exile on the island of Patmos, John received visions of the future (Revelation 1:9–11; 21:1–5). Amidst hardship, God revealed His ultimate plan for redemption. The manifestation of Christ to John is meant to serve as evidence for everyone – both believers and unbelievers – affirming the reality of our risen Lord. This divine appearance is intended to infuse strength and power into the life of the church.

In moments of adversity, when dark clouds seem to encircle God’s people, and oppression and persecution threaten to extinguish them, these are the very moments that offer invaluable lessons. Just as stars shine most brightly in the darkest night, the most radiant displays of God’s glory become evident. In essence, the darker the sky, the more vivid and impactful are the rays of the risen Saviour – the sun of righteousness illuminating the path before His children and triumphing over the forces of darkness. So, when facing challenges, remember that God is still in control. Trust in His promises knowing that He is making all things new.

The revelation received on Patmos concludes with the promise of Christ’s return (Revelation 22:12–21). John, the faithful witness, echoes Jesus’ words, saying, ‘Surely, I am coming soon’. As we await the return of the King, let us live with the eager expectation of His coming. Share the Good News message of salvation through Christ, knowing that the One who initiated this good work in you will bring it to completion on the day of Jesus Christ’s triumphant return. Amen.
