DAY 1 — THE BEAUTY OF JESUS

Recently, I’ve been captivated by something so simple, but so misunderstood in the world and in the body of Christ.

What is it? Simply put: It’s the BEAUTY OF JESUS.

Song of Solomon 5:16 describes Him best when he says: "His mouth is most sweet, Yes, HE is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem!"

"HE is altogether lovely."

 There is nothing unlovely about Jesus. He is "altogether" beautiful. He is the definition of beauty.

In fact, why is there beauty in this world at all? It’s the buildup and reflection of the One who created it.

"HE is altogether lovely."

I want to break down for you five ways I have seen the captivating beauty of Jesus. I pray you can use these as a catalyst to dive further into His beauty for yourself. 

1. How beautiful are His hands as He healed the sick, multiplied bread, and fed the multitudes? (Matthew 14:13–21)


2. How beautiful are His feet walking miles and miles to bring His message of love? Then they were pierced for our salvation and healing. (Isaiah 53:1–5)


3. How beautiful is His prayer when He prayed in John 17:23, "I in them and You in me that they may be perfected in one, so that the world will know that You sent me and loved them as You have loved me."


4. How beautiful is His humility in John 13:3, even when Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under His power. He didn’t ask others to bow; He didn’t take a throne; He didn’t take a victory lap. He took a towel and washed His disciples’ feet.


5. How beautiful is His heart that sees His weeping mother, as He hangs on the cross, and tells John to take care of her? His concern was not for Himself, but for her and John, and you and me. (John 19:25–27)

He IS altogether lovely!
