Heavenly Father..

Thank You for Your Word! Thank You for all the listeners who have been taking part in this Bible plan. I pray they wrap Your Word around their hearts and apply it to their lives. Thank You for giving me this medical miracle testimony to share with others. May prayer be our first line of defense when we are faced with adversity. Please open our hearts and minds to Your healing powers. In Your precious name we pray, amen!

In Matthew 19:26 Jesus reminds us that things may be impossible for man, but “with God all things are possible.” As you are about to hear in this excerpt from my audio memoir But First, God by putting God first in my life, He restored my hearing when I suddenly lost 80 percent of it in one ear.

They said You have something that's called sudden hearing loss. They told me you've lost 80% of your hearing in your right ear. Here's the treatment:

We're gonna give you a shot in your ear right now. It may not work, but you're gonna come back next week and the week after. Three shots, and the hope is you get something back, but chances are not good.

If anything, there's a 30% chance you'll get some of it back, and I'm thinking, what's gonna happen to my career if I don't get my hearing back? I have to wear an earpiece to do Big Brother. That's how the control room producers communicate to me what's gonna happen if I don't get it back?

So there I was getting the first of three shots, and I see this giant needle coming at me, and the needle goes in my ear and all of a sudden I think I'm gonna vomit. The whole room is spinning. I don't like rides like this.

And the pain. Nothing was numbed. So picture a sharp pin going into the center of your ear.

This is where divine timing comes into focus, at least for me. Hours after that first shot was my Zoom Bible study class. So at the end when they said any prayer requests? I was like, yes, I've lost 80% of my hearing in my right ear. I gave them the synopsis and they started to pray for me.

I went back next week to my doctor for shot number two, and they always give you a hearing test before they give you the shot.

I had no idea if I had improved or not. I was just lost in my own prayers and willing it to happen. They send me to the room to wait for the doctor. Doctor comes in with my file and he says, well, you got a hundred percent of your hearing back. You don't need this second shot.

And I said, great. I didn't even give the glory to God. I was like, okay, thanks. Bye. I have stuff to do now.

But 10 days after that, I went for my annual physical with my general practitioner, and she walked into the office with my huge file and she said, Julie, I don't know how you got all your hearing back, but I've never in my career seen anything like this.

Consider yourself very lucky. And it wasn't until that moment that she used that word, lucky, I realized this wasn't luck. This was God. That's when I gave the glory to God. You could call it what you want. To me, This was God performing a medical miracle.

Thank You for showing us all things are possible when we put You in first place. You tell us in scripture, in Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Without You we can do nothing. With you, we can do anything.
