THRIVE Mom Devotional Series Part 1: The Mindset to Thrive

DAY 2 OF 3

Day 2 - Mind Protection 101: Shielding Our Mom Minds from the Sneaky Sneaky Enemy

Hey there, fabulous moms! Guess what? We're smack in the middle of a spiritual showdown, a battle of epic proportions! Picture it: unseen battlegrounds, good versus evil, and our minds right in the crosshairs. But hold up! We're not defenseless, ladies. Oh no! Our Heavenly Father has hooked us up with some serious armor, and it's time to gear up and stay on guard!

Now, let's talk about one key piece of that armor: the helmet of salvation. It's like the superhero headgear that protects our precious mom minds. But here's the deal: there are some pesky factors that can get in the way of us rocking that helmet and leave our minds vulnerable to the enemy's sneak attacks.

First up, we've got ignorance. Yeah, sometimes we're clueless about the daily battle we're facing. We go about our lives, oblivious to the schemes of that sneaky adversary, Satan. But guess what? God wants us to be aware, watchful, and prayerful! No need to live in fear, worry, or anxiety, my friends. Let's stay informed, seek God's guidance, and keep that mom-mind protected!

Next on the list is pride. Oh boy, when we start thinking we're all that and a bag of chips, trouble brews. Thinking we can handle life's challenges all on our own? Nope, not a good idea! We might believe we're super knowledgeable about the Scriptures, but pride leads to destruction. So, let's kick that pride to the curb, humble ourselves before God, and recognize that our competence comes from Him alone.

Feeling like we've got it all together? Well, that sense of adequacy can be a roadblock too. When we start thinking we don't need anyone or anything, we're prime targets for the enemy's tricks. Let's be real, ladies. Our confidence should be in Christ, not in our own abilities. It's through Him that we find true strength and sufficiency. So, rock that humility and reliance on the One who's got our backs!

And then there's brokenness. Ever felt unworthy or undeserving? Yeah, we've all been there. But guess what? God's grace has got us covered! Salvation isn't some unattainable prize; it's a gift from above. It's not about our works but about His love and mercy. So, kick those feelings of unworthiness to the curb, embrace His grace, and step into the purposes He has for us!

Listen up, moms! Just like we wouldn't let our kids ride without a helmet or hop in a car without buckling up, let's realize the importance of protecting our mom minds. This week, we're suiting up, ladies! No room for ignorance, fear, pride, inadequacy, or unworthiness. We're locking that helmet of salvation in place and saying, "Not today, enemy!"

Let's pray: "Heavenly Father, thank You for providing us with the mind armor we need. Sometimes we've been clueless about the spiritual battle around us, but we're ready to wise up! Give us wisdom and discernment to be aware and prepared. Help us ditch the pride and rely on You alone. Replace any feelings of unworthiness with Your amazing love and grace. We're strapping on that helmet of salvation and walking in the assurance of Your saving power. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen!"

So, fabulous moms, let's rock that armor, keep our mom minds protected, and show the enemy who's boss! Stay fierce, stay vigilant, and stay shielded! You've got this, superhero moms!
