So You Think You're Not Good Enough?

DAY 3 OF 12

You call yourself a Christian and do THAT

There will come a time when someone is going to judge you using the words, “You call yourself a Christian and yet you (fill in the blank).” Every Christian gets judged because the people of the world who oppose the faith are waiting for you to trip up so that they can feel superior.

It’s a trap of the devil, but one that can be easily answered when you know the scripture.

However, while you might want to answer them back with scripture, it is often pointless because they don’t believe the scripture in the first place. But when you understand the scriptures, you will not be dragged down by their accusations.

First, you must remember at all times the wisdom of Romans chapter 8, verse 1.

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1)

When we come to Christ, we are no longer under condemnation. There is no condemnation for those in Christ because He has taken away our sins and the law that judged us. Any condemnation thrown at us by others is more a reflection of their guilty conscience, as the scripture says they are probably doing the same or worse.

So, you should disregard the condemnation from others. Consider also these words:

“Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies; who is to condemn?” (Romans 8:33-34)

Recognize that we are a work in progress as God transforms our lives. He is changing us into the image of Jesus Christ from one degree of glory to another. But it doesn’t happen overnight. That’s why He has set us free from sin and the law and given us the free gift of righteousness by faith so that we don’t have to walk in condemnation.

And if God realizes we are works in progress, we need to do the same and not be put off by the judgment of others who have no right to judge. Those who judge you have faults of their own. God is the only judge, and it is wrong to judge another. When someone judges you, they stand in the place of God, and that is a dangerous thing to do.

Because of the grace of God and the righteousness, we have through faith, whenever someone uses the “You call yourself a Christian…” line, ignore them and walk away. They have no idea what they are saying or doing.

Call to Action:

People will condemn you simply because you follow Christ. Remember, there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus.

About this Plan

So You Think You're Not Good Enough?

Have you ever thought, “I’m not good enough?” What about any of these other thoughts? I’m not worthy of being a Christian. Other people are better Christians than I am. I’m the worst sinner ever. God could never forgive...
