The Armor of God

DAY 3 OF 5

The Armor of God: Part III

In this series, we’re discussing how to apply the armor of God in Ephesians 6 to our workplace. The third piece of armor Paul discusses is your “feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”

Years ago, I had an associate accused of verbally abusing a peer, but because he had always been known as a peacemaker, the accusation didn’t stick. If you’re known as an agent of peace, the enemy’s attacks will not stand.

Some commentators believe Paul was referencing Isaiah 52:7, where it was written, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace.”

If you are someone in the workplace known to share good news and peace, you will have a strong defense against your enemies.

Questions For Reflection

  1. Think back over some of your recent conversations with your coworkers. Did it consist of positivity and thankfulness or complaints and divisive language?
  2. Complaints are sometimes necessary, but how might they be approached so that a solution is encouraged instead of more division?
  3. Is it possible to be both honest and uplifting? What might that look like?
