Salvation is intended to be an everlasting exhibit of God’s grace: We are the exhibit!

Ephesians 3:10-12, “His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.”

David expressed the beauty of God’s life in us in Psalm 103:8-12, “The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”

Salvation by faith in Jesus Christ was a mystery until Jesus came, but now it is revealed and available for all of us. Jesus said in Luke 8:17, “For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.”

Paul talked about this revealing in Colossians 1:26-27, “the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. To them, God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

We sometimes wonder as Christ followers why we suffer; but when God’s life and grace show through us in our suffering, the world takes notice. 2 Corinthians 4:10-11, “We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.”

So, Paul said in 2 Timothy 1:7-10, "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.”

Therefore, we exclaim in great joy, “For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” (Romans 11:36)

Heavenly Father, I’m beginning to recognize how wonderful You are and the high price You paid to cover my sin and totally erase it. Because Jesus Christ gave His life for me, I can be totally free, both in this life and the life to come. I have sinned and broken Your heart. I’m so sorry, and I repent – turn around from my selfishness to Your love and forgiveness. I receive everything You are into my life. I recognize now that sin didn’t, and doesn’t, have a chance in competition with Your aggressive forgiveness that we call grace. Your love is inviting me into life—a life that goes on and on and on, a world without end. I’m choosing today, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to follow You in everything, now and forever! Amen.
