Healing on the Inside and OutSample

Healing on the Inside and Out

DAY 6 OF 7

The Wounded Christ Heals Every Wound

Our healing is already ordained for us in Christ Jesus and by His finished work on the cross. Laying claim to that healing feels hard because of the traps and obstacles that the enemy sets up before us. The devil from the very beginning caused harm to man’s mind, body and spirit. He caused deep wounds that kept individuals bound up in sin and depravity. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8)

Wound-healing in humans requires five necessary steps. In recent times, it's been found that there’s an alarming degree of incomplete wound-healing in certain patients. Scientists propose that this is because of insufficient oxygen-rich blood reaching the wounds to complete the healing. This oxygen carried by the blood is essential for complete and total wound healing.

Today I believe that the same goes for our emotional and spiritual healing. Without claiming the blood of Jesus over our lives and asking for its covering over us, we won’t find healing in the deepest parts of our lives.

The problem with unhealed inner wounds is that they will keep us captive in fear, hate, bitterness, unforgiveness, pride, and despair. Random things could trigger us and we won't know why. We may injure and push away those who love us and are close to us because of the magnitude of unhealed inner wounds.

We need to be healed deeply for us to live wholly!

The blood of Jesus will help us do that because it brings victory over satan. When Jesus was whipped and scourged, every wound that opened up on his body is representative of every wound we have had, have, and will have. The blood that ran from these wounds, from his nail-pierced hands and from his wounded side is the perfect blood of a perfect sacrificial lamb shed for the forgiveness of every sin of mankind in the past, present, and future. The blood which was spilt at calvary saves us and frees us from the penalty of sin. It presents us, Holy, before God and gives us direct access to Him now. This blood cleanses our conscience from guilt and shame while also uniting every person who puts their faith in Christ.

When we say, “by His wounds we are healed” we are actually saying is that "our healing for every one of our wounds is found in the blood that flowed from every one of His wounds”. It's time to apply the blood of Jesus in faith through prayer, to every wound in our lives.

This is not a ritual or a mantra. It’s warfare.

We are in an all-out war with the enemy! We can choose to live wounded and defeated or to live fuelled and powered by faith and prayer! Our faith is in the victory that Jesus won at that cross and we persist in prayer for that victory to be manifest in every area of our lives.
