I Believe; Help My Unbelief

DAY 2 OF 14

This verse is a little ‘for the prophets’ post-it note on yesterday’s letter. Here’s a job for God’s spokesmen: soothe the heart and soul of my people.

This reminds me of something the Apostle Paul writes: God has shaken all men out of their comfort so he might show them his saving mercy. A God who dis-comforts! Read about it in Romans 11:32: For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

God’s saving mercy! That’s what these prophets get to announce. Without knowing the details, God’s people are told their punishment has been paid in full. Is yours?

Prayer

It’s deathly dark to think of being imprisoned in disobedience. But today I’m remembering your rescuing mercy, Saviour. What a rich, and eternal comfort.
