SWHW Bible Reading Plan: August 2021

DAY 22 OF 22

Top Takeaway from Caren Fehr:

If your mind is blown, confused, anxious, burdened, and excited after reading Daniel 11-12, you're not alone. I must have experienced six different emotions simultaneously as I read these chapters!

What is comforting to know is that in Daniel 12:8, we see Daniel himself struggling to fully understand all that is being revealed to him in the prophecy.

To summarize the prophecy from Daniel 11:36 to Daniel 12:3, we see:

A world ruler that is completely opposed to God and glorifies self.

A world war that ultimately defeats the ruler.

A time of hardship for Israel lasting three and one-half years.

Rescue for the people of God after the hardship.

 Resurrection and judgment.

 The righteous' reward.

It's a lot to take in. What I would like us to focus on today is the last verse of Daniel 12:

“As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance."

The charge to Daniel to go his way until the end reminded me of Hebrews 12:1-2a:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith."

And also, 2 Timothy 4:7:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Be encouraged with me, sisters. Rather than becoming distracted by what we do not fully know or understand, let us take action [obedience] that is based upon what we do know. Let us finish the race marked out for us with God, His way, and for His glory.

Father, I thank You for Your Word and how You love to communicate and reveal Yourself to those who seek You. I ask today that You would open our eyes to see You as You truly are. Give us courage and boldness to live out the purpose You have for us, that we may make You known among the nations. We love You! Amen.
