Night Before DAWN

DAY 2 OF 6

Night 2

After a day full of emotions, the night seemed to be too quiet. Everybody wants to share but no one wants to be the first. It had been a long time since they saw their Teacher like this. He could be worn out sometimes; He could be hungry, inspired, silent, or excited… But not angry! Was He that angry when they could not heal the possessed boy? No! Now it was something completely different.

Jesus overturned the tables.

Really?

He drew everyone out of the temple.

No way!

He had tied ropes to a stick and was whipping them over the ground as hard as He could.

Is this Jesus we’re still talking about?

What changed His attitude today? What prompted Him to act differently now? Where did all of His calmness, patience and restraint go?

The reason is simple – distortion of values.

Something that should have pointed to the greatest VALUE became more important than the actual values. Something that should have ultimately pointed to the price of the PRICELESS LAMB became just profiteering. Something that used to be a signpost became more important than the ROAD.

That’s why that night was full of silence, even though they were overwhelmed with emotions. On the one hand, they were excited by their teacher’s boldness, on the other hand – they were filled with fear and were asking themselves if they understood the lesson correctly. Were they right about what the TEMPLE of their lives was intended for: for VALUES or for small worthless things?

It is the night. The night to glimpse inside yourself. Easter is close!
