Day 6: Apply

When sin entered the world through Adam, death and destruction followed (Romans 5:12; 6:23). All of the bad news and daily struggles on this earth came from the one act of disobedience to God in the garden of Eden. Naturally, we are all sons and daughters of Adam. Sin spread to the whole human race, and this earth was saturated with sin and all of sin’s consequences. Everyone who does not perfectly obey God’s commands and principles is under the curse. From the curse comes hurt, pain, tears, addictions, fear, anxiety, confusion, disease, poverty, depression, despair, oppression, and any other negative experience.

The powerful truth about the cross that Jesus bled and died on is the fact that He was your substitute. Jesus did not just shed His blood to wipe us clean; Jesus attacked the root of the curse that is experienced here on planet earth. Jesus became sin on the cross for you (2 Corinthians 5:21). By becoming sin and taking your punishment for sin on the cross, Jesus overcame sin and death. Since the root of sin was taken care of, the curse that comes from the sin was defeated also! Jesus has secured your freedom from the curse by redeeming, or purchasing, your salvation and freedom through the blood He shed. Galatians 3:13 says, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.”

There is no sin, no curse, or no bondage that tries to keep you down and defeated that has power over the blood of Jesus! His blood was poured out for your freedom over the curse of sin. You no longer need to live in defeat to sin. You no longer have to accept fear and anxiety as a part of your life. You no longer have to allow the curse of financial struggle and tormenting disease. You no longer have to be confused and unable to make good and wise decisions. You are no longer broken, bound, or rejected.

The question is, what are you doing about it? Do you believe it? Are you trusting in the blood to fully free you from the curse? Is your mind renewed by this truth or are you stuck thinking and believing the lie that nothing will ever change? Apply the blood of Jesus in your life. Stand strong in this truth. The blood of Jesus never loses.
