The Beauty of Restoration

DAY 1 OF 3

Lost but Restored

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten”- Joel 2:25

We often ask, “God, how am I going to get back the time and years I have lost”

Well, time is precious - you cannot get it back once it is gone. But here in Joel, the Lord promises something that we think is impossible. He says that ‘He will repay, that He will restore those years the locusts have eaten up.’

Locusts can destroy the crops; they cause famine, and starvation for people who depend on them. It can cause mourning, sorrow and disappointment.

Firstly, we must believe that all things are possible with God. Secondly, instead of sitting back and pondering about those sorrowful years, fruitless years, lifeless years, dull years, sluggish years, painful years, and wicked years, go to God for He will repay and restore them. Nobody can repay or restore those lost years, but God can.

This divine restoration process will begin when you repent and ask God to forgive your sins. The blessings of the Lord will follow when you obey and believe in Him.

You may have lost someone recently, or this pandemic has brought you to a difficult transition, or maybe you are still living in a period where everything seems impossible. But, hold on to this gracious promise; ‘God will repay and God will restore’.

You might be angry and upset with God, but restoration begins when you get back to Jesus. You will begin to see healing both physically and spiritually. You will begin to thank God for His wonders.

Say this prayer in faith,

Dear Father,

I am disappointed, this is too heavy for me to carry but it is so easy for you. I am sorry for the things that I have done against You. Thank You for being gracious to me. Forgive me and bless me, Lord. I love You, in Jesus name’. Amen.

Take away:

The restoration process begins when you repent and get back to Jesus.
