Your prayers are powerful. As we read through the Bible, we see that prayer was a precursor before many moves of God, victories over enemies, and nations saved by God from evil rulers and kings. For someone who has committed their life to Jesus, prayer should become so natural that God is the first person we turn to with whatever we are facing.



In my relationship with God, I have experienced different types of prayers. When I was a little girl, my prayer life was simple--I was learning how to pray the way Jesus taught his disciples, and as I matured, I began to understand the power of praying what is on God’s heart and declaring scriptures into my situations. I also have experienced intense times of deep travail and intercession for people and nations. What I have come to love is the moment by moment prayers, “Father, I ask for your wisdom,” “Holy Spirit, fill me with your presence and love,” “Jesus, what do you love about this person?”



At times, I still struggle to think that God would choose me to pray for what is on His heart, pray for one of His children, and want to be a part of every detail of my life. HE is so personal, and it’s an honor to partner with Him.



Reflection Question:



Ask God to show you something to pray that is on His heart for essential workers.

Praise + Prayer:



God, help me remember to seek Your will, heart, and ways for my life first. Purify my heart and mind so that I can walk in Your holiness. God, break my heart for what breaks your heart. Show me nations and people groups to pray and intercede for. Show me the one in my community that needs to hear about who You are. Amen.

Write out a prayer or call someone that is an essential worker during COVID-19 and pray for them.
