DAY 2 OF 5

Faith in ‘Hopeless Times’

In many ways, Moses wasn’t much different than the rest of us, when reacting to a complex situation. The scenario in Numbers 11 was definitely tough! Leading the multitude of Israel was a huge burden that made him say, ‘Put me to death, oh God’. He was tired of the people complaining, ‘we ate fish at no cost, we had cucumbers & melons and had a good appetite! Why did we ever leave Egypt?’

But then God promises to provide meat, not for a day or two, but for an entire month! Moses exclaimed that he had 600,000 people at hand and asked God how he was going to do this.

If it was us, we’d probably say, ‘God, what are you talking about?’

Well, here’s the lesson - You and I always try to figure out:

1. How God is going to perform the miracle?

2. How God is going to fulfill that promise?

3. How God is going to do a breakthrough? And we keep doing this, again and again.

In Psalm 78:11, we read ‘that they had forgotten what God had done’. We may forget the wonders that He had done right in front of our eyes. Psalmist says that God knew what we are made of—a passing breeze. He’s merciful! We need to remember this, that when God gives a promise, He fulfills it. He will not forget, nor forsake His promise.

God is limitless! The Lord answered Moses, ‘You’ll see soon enough whether what I say happens for you or not.’

Move on by saying, 'God will do a miracle for me, He will fulfill the promise and He will do a breakthrough'. His hand is not short! He will not leave you half-way through.

Take away:

Thank Him in hopeless times.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for your promises. Forgive me for doubting Your promise. Remind me of those promises when I’m desperate. I love You, Lord, in Jesus' name. Amen
