God, the Father of all creation, personally invited Noah and his family to enter the ark, and He sealed the invitation with a promise. Everyone else on earth would be destroyed, but due to Noah’s obedience and righteousness, he and his beloved family were called into safety. Noah and his wife, along with his sons and their wives, would enter the ark with the assurance of hope! 

You may not always understand God’s instructions—but obey anyway! God’s requests may seem absurd to your natural way of thinking—but obey anyway! God has never asked His children to fully understand, but He has simply asked us to follow Him. 

Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did. (Genesis 6:22)

Oh, that God would say those exact words about me! Oh, that I would be known as a woman who immediately obeyed everything the Father commanded me to do. God will inevitably ask His children to do hard things, but when those hard things collide with the joy of obedience, you can be sure that the blessing of the Father will be following in close pursuit! 

We often ignore the coming blessing and focus on the difficulty of obedience; time and time again, we forget about the joy and meditate on the mandate. The life of Noah is vibrant proof that the road to a lasting legacy is built upon a lifestyle of obedience and faithfulness. 

Choosing to obey the Lord during the peaceful times in life can become a sacred act of submission on our part. When we obey, our ark will be fully stocked for the upcoming period of unstable circumstances and will remain a place of peaceful refuge from the furor happening around us.
