For the Rest of Your Life

As followers of Jesus, our hearts yearn for the day when we stand with countless people, wearing robes of white and are worshipping God together. All of these people with different upbringings will have one thing in common: their love and devotion to God who sits on the throne. We wish this day would come sooner, but God in His perfect timing is allowing us to love and be devoted to Jesus on this side of heaven. 

The Great Commandment and the Great Commission can only be lived out in a healthy way if we are in close fellowship with God and with other believers. Loving God with all our heart, mind, and strength cannot be done if we are not choosing to spend time with Him. If we are not spending time with Jesus, we are not going to be motivated or empowered to share Him with others. 

Our hope is that during this time you have grown to know God, shared your faith, and have been in community. However, this is not something to do just for a limited number of days, but something to do for the rest of your life until we reach the throne of God in full perfection. 

Questions to Ask Yourself:

1. In what areas do you feel your walk with God is thriving? Where are you struggling? What do you need to change?


2. How are you going to help others find and follow Jesus this upcoming year? 


3. How does Revelation 7:9-11 spur you to live on this side of heaven? 

What’s Next:

1. Pray for your upcoming semester. Pray that not only would you grow in your faith this upcoming year, but that God would use you in the lives of others to also increase their faith. Finally, thank God for the ways He has revealed Himself to you. 

Prayer: Dear God, you have given me absolutely everything, and I want to continually praise you and love others because of it. Thank you for the ways you have moved during this devotional. Keep my heart aligned with your will. I pray I am actively pursuing you so Revelation 7:9-11 can occur. I pray for increased faith and obedience to walk according to your will. Amen.
