Your Mindset: Do you know anyone who has gone on a mission trip before and seen someone believe in Jesus for the first time? Maybe you have a friend who worked at a summer camp and got to see campers  trust Christ. It can become easy to expect to hear stories like that when people you know are working at summer camps or going on mission trips. But what about your friends who do internships or take classes over the summer? Is it normal for them to have stories about people placing their faith in Jesus for the first time? 

Not typically. Is that because it is not possible or that God is not working in those places? Absolutely not! It may have much more to do with our mindset and our purpose than our summer job title. What would it look like if all of us spent this summer with the same mindset and purpose as our friends who are working summer camps or going on mission trips? No matter what you are doing this summer, God can use you and work through you. Whether it is seeing someone place their faith in Jesus for the first time, seeing someone come to church, or seeing someone understand what a relationship with Jesus looks like, God can use you to impact someone’s eternal trajectory.

  • Spend the next 5 minutes praying for the people you are interacting with. Ask the Lord to open your eyes and heart to the people around you so that he can empower you to share your faith
