Journey To An Empty Tomb

DAY 3 OF 5

Aftermath of a Painful Loss

Yet not what I will, but what You will. Nine words. Nine unfathomable words. It is hard to imagine the loss that Jesus must have felt as He hung on the cross. Everyone had deserted Him. He was alone. And He knew that soon He would bear the weight of all the world’s sin. Even His Father would turn away until the work of the cross was finished. Through this, Jesus showed us how to live out the phrase, "Your will be done." Angelia Waite shares how deep loss brought her closer to God and helped her better understand God's will.

Your will be done. No one understands better than God how difficult it can be for a human to embrace the will of God. In the midst of pain, suffering or devastating loss, people will often rally around you. They may stay only for the moment and then drift away. Pain and loss are hard for people to comprehend and they often fear that they will not know what to say. Or they do not feel adequate to bring comfort. But not only will God stand with you, He will hold you and comfort you. Jesus' finished work on the cross guarantees that God will never turn away from those who have put their faith in Him!
