Daily Bible Reading—April 2024, God’s Guiding Word: Hope

DAY 30 OF 30

April 30

Introduction

Psalm 34: Today’s reading is a prayer that acknowledges being saved by God and praises God’s goodness and greatness. The writer affirms that God hears the cries of the righteous but opposes those who do evil. All who obey the LORD will lack nothing good.

Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 34:8

Find out for yourself how good the LORD is. Happy are those who find safety with him.

Reflect

Reread verses 4–6. How was the writer’s prayer answered? When or how have you experienced answers to prayer? What advice does the writer give in verses 12–14? According to verses 15–22, how are the righteous rewarded? What is the fate of those who do evil? What are your thoughts about the promise in verses 19 and 20 about the suffering of good people?

Pray

I will always thank you, Lord God, and I will never stop praising you for the great things you have done. I praise you for your goodness and faithfulness. In times of trouble, I know that you are always near, filling my heart with hope. May my words and actions this day reflect your love and bring glory and honor to you. Amen.

Tomorrow’s Reading

Psalm 50: Giving thanks is the way to honor God.
